WIQS IQ Test (“we,” “our,” or “the Site”) provides an online test that measures intelligence quotient (IQ). We recognize the importance of handling our users’ personal information appropriately and have established this Privacy Policy accordingly.
Information We Collect
Pretest
No personal information is required to take the Pretest.
Official Test
To take the Official Test, you will be asked to provide the following information:
- Email address
- Country
- Name or nickname
- Year of birth
- Gender
- Education
- Your test answers and score
Automatically Collected Information
When you browse the Site, the following information may be collected automatically:
- IP address
- Country or region estimated from your IP address (only the country code is stored; the IP address itself is not stored for this purpose)
- Browser type, operating system, and other technical information
- Cookies and session data (used to manage your progress through the test)
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To send you your Official Test results (IQ score) by email, after verifying your identity with a confirmation code
- To manage your progress through the test (current question, elapsed time, etc.) via session data
- To improve our service and compile statistics (in a form that does not identify individuals)
- To estimate your country or region from your IP address and use it to compile usage statistics (such as the number of test-takers by country and language) and to improve the Site
- To prevent fraudulent use of the Site
Sharing of Information
We will not provide your personal information to third parties without your consent, except in the following cases:
- Where required by law
- Where necessary to entrust the information to service providers (such as hosting or email delivery providers) to the extent necessary to operate the Site
- Where necessary to share information with a payment processor (such as Stripe) to the extent required to process payment, should we introduce paid services in the future
Estimating Your Country or Region
When you take a test, we estimate your country or region from your IP address. This is done on our own server, and your IP address is not sent to any external service for this purpose. We store only a country code, and we do not use it to identify you personally. The estimate is not always accurate.
Cookies and Session Data
We use session data and browser session storage to manage your progress through the test. This data is generally cleared when you close your browser or complete the test.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by applicable law.

Security
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information and to otherwise manage personal information securely.
Use by Minors
If a minor takes the Official Test, please ensure that a parent or guardian has given consent.
For Users in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland (GDPR)
If you access the Site from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent laws apply to the personal data we process about you. This section supplements the rest of this policy.

Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data on the following legal bases:
- To provide the Official Test and send you your result (email address, country, name or nickname, year of birth, gender, education, answers and score): performance of the service you request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To improve our services, compile statistics in a form that does not identify individuals (including statistics based on a country or region estimated from your IP address), and prevent misuse of the Site: our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To use non-essential cookies, such as analytics cookies: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can give or withdraw at any time through the cookie settings.
Providing your year of birth, gender and education is optional: you can choose “Prefer not to say.” We do not make decisions that produce legal effects on you based solely on automated processing.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Complaints
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred. In the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). A list of EU data protection authorities is available from the European Data Protection Board (EDPB).
Transfers to Japan
Our servers are located in Japan, so your personal data is transferred to and processed in Japan. The European Commission has adopted a decision recognising that Japan provides an adequate level of data protection (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/419), so no additional transfer mechanism is required for transfers from the EEA. For users in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we apply the same level of protection.
Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice to users, except where otherwise required by law or this policy. The revised policy takes effect once posted on the Site.
